In St. Petersburg, FL

Snell Isle - Shore Acres - Historic Old Northeast - Historic Kenwood - Downtown

Snell Isle

  • This is considered the most esteemed neighborhood in St. Pete, especially the houses on Brightwaters Blvd NE. which has the open bay right behind it.

  • Average price point in Snell Isle is about $1M within the different neighborhoods

  • However, Brightwaters Blvd has an average price between $6-9M

  • Some interesting history about Snell Isle - it was originally purchased for $2,000 back in the early 1900s. The man who bought it went there on his honeymoon with his wife Lillian. He was from Kentucky and he built a Mediterranean revival mansion. So the Isle has a very Mediterranean and European feel.

  • Snell Isle is very close, not only to the Vinoy water walking areas, but you also have the Vinoy tennis court and golf course. You have all the nightlife and downtown restaurants, bars, everything is within biking or walking distance. The coffee pot district is right down the street.

  • From Vinoy park you have downtown views and views of the marina, as well as open water views and St. Pete pier. You will see many people walking, it's a safe area and the sidewalk takes you to the majority of the communities there

  • Across the bridge from old historic neighborhoods (Coffee Pot Bayou)

  • Surrounded by water, it has some of St. Pete's most sought after homes with waterfront views.

  • Homes vary from large 10,000 sq ft mediterranean estates to single family homes with a little bit of European flare.

  • Much of the old north east area is known for having that "old money" feel whereas Snell Isle has more of the "new money" feel as many of the older Spanish style homes have been torn down to build some custom larger luxury homes as demand for these has risen over the years.

Shore Acres

  • This is a more affordable area.

  • Shore Acres' elevation is lower than Snell Isle so that is probably why there is a price difference.

  • Great community for boating and fishing enthusiasts

  • Has lots of waterfront living with expansive canals that lead out to the open water.

  • Historic, walkable, densely populated, and features waterfront living with homes on the bay or the inlet.

  • Homes include a mixture of large new construction homes and older well-kept block homes with plenty of yard space and a lot of peace and quiet.

  • Widely regarded as one of Pinellas County's nicest neighborhoods that has been popular with families for decades, Shore Acres offers that perfect piece of that Florida Paradise.

  • The neighborhood has its own fire station, a shopping plaza with a food market, a butcher, dry cleaners, and two churches.

  • As with every neighborhood nearby, there are tons of things to do in nearby downtown but the community does have some nice amenities.

  • The Shore Acres Rec Center offers aerobic classes, an aquatic center with a 6 lane lap pool, half court basketball court, picnic tables and Denver Park nearby with tennis courts, basketball courts and playground for kids.

  • Near Vinoy park as well.

Historic Old Northeast

  • Close to the Vinoy park.

  • Home to the many city events and festivals

  • Some downsides: can be some of the most expensive real estate, parking can be an issue.

Historic Kenwood
